Exhibition is divided into several parts focusing on different topics. You will see hundreds of original models form around the world. Several millions of Lego bricks were used to build the models. The exhibition is still being expanded and another interesting and rare pieces are being added. Not only young visitors will be excited by a laser and light show dedicated to the Star Wars.

THE BOTANICAL GARDEN


The botanical garden is a place good for contemplation as well as for enriching your knowledge. The garden was founded in 1866 which makes it the second oldest in the Czech Republic.

ZOO Tábor – Větrovy, a. s.is the largest zoological garden in the south of Bohemia. It focuses on the American continent fauna, but you can also find representatives of other continents here, such as lions, tigers, zebras and many other animals popular with children as well as adults.

The name of the main church confirms the orientation of our predecessors and their relationship to the Bible. A story in the Gospel has it that on Mount Tabor near Genezaret Lake in Palestine Jesus changed his appearance before the very eyes of his followers to show them that he was the God’s son.

The view from Kotnov to the north-west offers charming scenery. Down there deep among trees glitters the river Luznice, whose water sometimes hurries, sometimes dawdles towards the town of Bechyne and then further down to the confluence with the Vltava (Moldau). If you look up, your eye is caught by an impressive structure on the top of a steep slope above the river. It is the pilgrimage church of Klokoty.

 


OSCAR NEDBAL THEATRE

OSCAR NEDBAL THEATRE

 

The local theatre was named after Oskar Nedbal (1874 - 1930). He was a famous composer, conductor, virtuoso and a member of the well-known Czech Quartet; he was born here and lived here until his graduation at grammar school. All his life he kept fond memories of the town where he spent his childhood.

The town of Bechyně was founded 1323 by Jan Lucemburský and it is situated between the Rivers Lužnice and Smutná. The local castle was rebuilt in 16th century and during following years it was transformed into the renaissance chateau.

 

 

ČERVENÁ LHOTA CASTLE

ČERVENÁ LHOTA CASTLE

 

Červená Lhota castle belongs between the most romantic and most visited historical monuments in South Bohemia. Červená Lhota called often “The Water Castle” was built on a rock on a small island in the middle of a lake. It is accessible over a stone bridge that connects the dam with the island. The castle is administered by the National Cultural Heritage Institute in České Budějovice.

 
 

 

CHÝNOV CAVE

CHÝNOV CAVE

 

The Chýnov cave was discovered in 1863. It is the one of the biggest cave in the Czech Republic and the first Czech cave accessible to the public. Visitors won´t find typical stalactites and stalagmites, but many interesting formations created by water and various colors of marble, such as white, yellow and brown on the walls of the cave. The small stream with drinking water runs through the lowest part of the cave. The length of discovered tunnels is about 1200 but only 220 meters is accessible to the visitors.
